Photography is the medium through which I explore my mind’s eye, a means of self-expression as it offers endless creative potential. I make pictures for myself, to improve my visual literacy, to better understand my reality and to express my interpretation of the world around me.
For fifteen years it’s been the vehicle that efficiently transports me to new and unusual places. To find the best points of view and to be there, in that brief window, when the light is right is almost magical.
In such an environment, there is a sense of peace and integration with the landscape that is mixed with feelings of excitement and mystery. There is an awareness of beauty, exclusivity and on occasion fear as I use the viewfinder to create images of imagined spaces, an alternate reality.
